They make my 500 sw encore enjoyable to shoot. I love the feel and the shape of them as they fit my hand perfectly. Plus the sling stud is nice. No dislikes for me!!

I had them on my 375 JDJ for my contender and they made it enjoyable to shoot as far as recoil. They made it miserable to open my action though so I decided to take them off. I have played with them a few times since and they still make my action hard to open.

I put the TC factory Rynite plastic grip on my contender. It has a built in recoil pad on the back and handles recoil of my 30/30 barrel just fine. The difference between it and the pachs is it is a smaller feel in the hand and I like that but some would rather have the larger feel.

I have a 460 I was thinking of doing this on with a 18" barrel. The other option is going with the laminate ones from Ole Georgia Jim or Tonys. Any thoughts there, which might be better? Alos with the laminate I could get a thumbrest on also.
Thanks for your input.

I prefer the pachmayr grips to the TC grips on the older Contenders, especially the ones with more recoil. I have the presentation grips on most of mine, but my old 6.5 has the pachmayr "gripper" grip on it. It is good for that one as the recoil is not much. I can get along with the G-2 rubber grips OK. I personally do not really like the factory wooden grips on the heavier recoiling calibers. I have never had a custom wooden grip so I cannot address them.

It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

I have Pachy's on my Encore with a 15" 30.06 barrel with out a brake and really like them. I just put a presentation set on my Contender and hopefully will get to test them this week end.

I'd rather be lost in the woods with my 41 Mag. Than found at home without it.

I don't have an Encore but I put them on my G2 as well as older contenders and even with my 375JDJ pushing 260gr Accubonds at 2100fps it was alot more comfortable than the wood and it also made me feel like I was more in control during recoil.

I know I am late on the post...

I have the Pac's on my 375 H&H AI... they work great. However, I would much rather shoot my custom wood grip. They fit my hands perfectly and are as comfortable to shoot, they are just more money than the Pac's.
