Anyone have any experience using HSM bulk ammo you can get thru Cabelas? Min order is 300 rds, so I don't want to risk $275 on junk.
I'd be using in Ruger Bisley .44

I uses it in my 454's and yet to have an issue with it, it all goes BOOM after I pull the trigger, I've purchased about 600 rounds so far.

$10/100 for powder
$4/100 for primers
$25/100 for jacketed bullets
$25/100 for brass....one time initial investment for fairness....although will not last forever....we'll take it into account.
......and rough estimates off the top of my head....
$64/100 rounds to reload your own the first time. $39/100 rounds on the second loading, and thereafter if not counting buying the brass each time.
looks like it's time to take up handloading your own ammo! you'd still have $ left to purchase a reasonable reloading tooling setup.(LEE kit)
roughly, for that $275....you could buy an excellent brand new RCBS rock chucker kit....or even search out "used" single pieces for more savings.
Kentucky….no place like home.

Not used it myself, but everything I have heard to date has been good. I reload for everything myself.

I figure, if the stuff is worth shooting and isn't a crud-maker, it might make good reload press fodder! I guess I should have asked about the resultant brass in my original post, huh?

HSM is the group that does the Ammo for, Best Of The West if I am correct. Pretty accurate!

My original price was wrong BTW, $215/300; not that much better, but still cheap'ish. May have to try a batch.

I bought 300 rounds just to try. I got the 240 gr. JHP. I figured if they shot well I'd use them on whitetail. They didn't perform well (to my standards) out of my Bisley Hunter, so I just use them for plinking and reload the brass with 300gr MBW WFNGC.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I think Like Dan
Lee Kit $100 1000 Primers $45 1 lb 2400 Berry cast Bullets $28 /250
I have 200 rounds or so of brass you can have to start for $35 shipped
Buy one box of 240 XTPs and you are in buisness
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I'm doing 3 inch groups at 70 yards with iron sights on my Raging Bull, getting in the 1.5" on my scoped SRH, I recently got a chrono so when I get that in use I'll keep you posted.

Buy one box of 240 XTPs and you are in buisness I have no doubt that I'll begin reloading again, but I have to have brass, and may as well get some shooting out of the deal! SA revolvers are a new'ish thing to me (I've only shot snubbies and a 7 1/2" Seville .357 with .38 +P), and a magnum is a really new thing to me, so I grabbed some BVAC light loads with SWC bullets to start (~885 fps). Then I got some white box at ~1180 fps and a couple of boxes of Hornady with 180 XTP's at a robust 1550 fps, just for kicks (pun, pun, here comes the pun). That'll give me 240 rounds of practice ammo and some decent brass to work with going forward. H20BUG, I PM'd you re: the brass.

Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

Does the "Breech Lock" feature sort of work like the "Lock-n-Load" feature from Hornady?

Well, I just ordered a Lee 4-hole Turret Press kit and a 4 die set for 44 mag and a powder trickler. Mid-South had all in stock and the best price and shipping choices.
You guys have given me the FEVER! Also got my HSM ammo and dry box from Cabela's, so I have plenty of press fodder too!
While I wait for the press to show up, I'll head to the local gun shop(s) for primers, bullets and powder.
