Well, I've crossed over to the dark side... Not sure why, but I did.

Nothing wrong with that in the least! Very cool! Now how about some details?!

They somehow included the 458 SOCOM in the cartridges (where before only "handgun rounds" were legal IN RIFLES) in the state for deer hunting. Don't ask me to explain it.

Since a similar gun is the only gun I know of a SOCOM comes in, they will be in the woods here this fall too.

Nothing wrong with ANY gun, and in this day and age all gun owners need to support each other, regardless of personal likes and dislikes. So a thumbs up from ME to, buddy!

If I was rich, I'd buy a SOCOM version, for "back up" in case of a deer stampede and I'd claim self defense. *grin*.

Gotta admit they are fun but only in a different way.

Well, it's not for hunting (four legged critters, anyway). I've been doing some competitions shooting the last couple years with the military and thought I might do a little on the civilian side. First step was to get a legal weapon. So, here it is. I also helped out a family member in need of some tax money.

I've shot'em and worked on 'em for years, but never thought I'd own one. It's a Bushmaster M4 w/4 rail handguard, surefire light w/pressure switch, vertical forward grip and tactical bipod. For competition I'll end up getting another upper w/20" barrel. The sight radius on the M4 model just don't cut it at 600 yards. After I reach my competition goals I may sell it or keep it for home defence, who knows, time will tell. Haven't shot it yet, so no range report at this time.

I know why...Because you can! Don't fret - I hadn't gotten one either and never saw a good reason to, until one of my friends bought a Bushy, and I shot it. Went downhill from there. So one Sig 556 and a whole bunch of accessories later, I have a really fun gun to shoot and wreak havoc on hogs, coyotes and the like...

I got mine about a year ago, have a detachable 4-16 X44 scope on it, tons of fun on the range look for ammo deals at ammotogo.com I've gotten 1000 rounds for less than 325 bucks, stay away from the wolf stuff that lacquer on the casings can cause feeding problems when it gets hot, there are lots of good deals out there on reman. lake city as well. I'm still young enough to reach out there with the iron sites as well, have a blast

We do a lot of buisness with Sabre Defence at work -- I was talking to the plant manager today and they have some new piston guns that are very nice. I want one of the target models with the fixed stock.

We will see---

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.
