going to kick like a damn Cape Buffalo! Can't believe how light it is compared to the S&W PC .460. Even got the SSK bull barrel on it but sheesh! Can't wait to shoot her Saturday for the first time, though--know this beauty is gonna be a shooter!

Kingfisher,
Did you have a factoy break installed? If not maybe so. My 13 yr old daughter perfers the 460 SW Encore over a 44 Blackhawk with a break.

With a break it's a BLAST to shoot. ENJOY!

John

SSK installed the break. Your 13 yr. old daughter shoots a .460? That could be considered child abuse. The S&W PC is very manageable because of its weight (84). My concern is the T/C is much lighter. I'll know for sure about the recoil in about 6 hours.

The break has ports drilled rearward that tends to pull the weapon forward. If it didn't have a break I wouldn't own it because you couldn't shoot it.

My Son is in the Army Special Forces. I bought the 460 prior to his 4th deployment to Iraq. We went on a family hunt a week before he left and introduced him to it. He was concerned about injury and his little sister asured him if she could he could.

It is fun watching the look on fellow shooters faces at the range
when she sets up.

Like any loving parent, I wouldn't let her hurt herself.

I have a Custome 15" bull barrel SS .460 S&W with no break , and it aint bad with 200 gr bullets. She's a MONSTER with 275 and 395 hard cast...OMG. If your ant recoil shy, without a break You will be from then on! But she's a shoot now.

Piece of cake! A real pussycat!! Manager!... ICE!!!!
Great shooter. Can't wait til November in Illinois. Hard to believe the difference in recoil from the Smith. Like nonexistant!

Just thought I loved that wheel. The T/C that is sitting next to me as I type is the finest shooter my index finger has ever squeezzed.

Ran 30 rounds thru it today. Got to adjust my shooting technique before I can get the long-range groups I'm after. I so used to to letting the S&W .460 do its thing--don't hold it down, just hold on! With the T/C, I've learned that the shooter is in control.
