I just wanted to let everyone know that I got an email from Gregg's son Joe today and Gregg has severely injured his leg in a fall. Basically he has shattered his lower leg and has undergone 2 surgeries so far to try and repair the damage. His lower leg was in about 20-30 separate pieces prior to the surgery. If you're so inclined say a prayer that he recovers quickly. The doctors are saying that he won't be able to put any weight on his leg for 3+ months. I think Joe may post some more information soon but for now that's about all I know. If anyone want's his hospital room number to give him a call it is 303-788-3628 which is in Denver so be sensitive to the time that you call. Joe said he was pretty groggy - they probably have him on quite a bit of meds.

YIKES!!!

We will keep him in our thoughts. My mother broke her leg enough that she has a rod keeping it together now, stepped out of her trailer at a show and BANG there it went...

Sounds like Gregg is going to need some serious help there...

I just got of the phone with him a few minutes ago, he is in better spirits today and giving the nurses hell. Gregg called me a couple of days ago to tell me what had happened. His spirits I could tell were pretty low. He simply slipped on the ice and with his bad knees, well it got ugly in a hurry. Its like we said if you are living life things are going to happen from time to time.

They are telling him he may go home tomorrow so I will probably run over to his house and help him inside if I can. He is too big of a load for his wife, (most of you don't know it but Gregg is about 6'9" tall, not over weight at all but not a small man) and see what I can do around there to help him out some over the next few weeks.

I think I may be visiting him a lot more as it is only about 4 miles from my house to his. He may need a kick in the butt every now and then but the good news is he should be mobile for hunting season again!

All I wish to thank you all for your Prayers, Please Keep them coming! And may God Bless all of you!

As you know my Father has suffered a severe compound fracture of his lower left leg (the same leg he happens to have a knee replacement on), both of his Tibia and Fibula are compromised (between 20-30 separate pieces of bone now), luckily his knee replacement is fine. He was rushed into surgery Monday Morning ~3:30 am for what would be a 4 hour surgery. 23 screws and 2 plates later he is recovering at swedish medical center in Denver. He had a follow up surgery Wednesday night.

Yesterday he started his physical therapy. He is having a hard time with the stairs portion of it. I will keep you posted.

I spoke to Gregg a few hours ago, intentionally keeping the conversation short, just to let him know that we were thinking about him and praying for his quick return to comfort and early recovery.
Gary, thanks for letting us know, and Joe and Bill, thanks for the updates.

I crushed my right leg in a tree stand accident 11 years ago. Gregg's next month is going to be living hell as he adjusts to life in a reclining chair 24hrs a day and the associated pain he will endure, so keep the prayers coming for him.

Gregg, PM me anytime to talk about the recovery process. I know all too well what you are and will be going through. Be patient because you will get well!

Happy Easter to everyone.

My Father made it home from the Hospital last night. He seemed very tired when I was talking with him. The trip home from the hospital was enough to wipe him out. All in all he was in good spirits and happy to be home.

And today as we celebrate our lord Jesus, please remember to thank him for all the blessings in life. As you all know things can change in an instant. Although this will be a rough patch in my Dad's life, with your prayers he will emerge victorious.

God Bless!

I am humbled.

First off, Joe: Thank you Son. My words are inadequate...

Thank you Gary, for your posting and for your blessings for the postings.

And thank you: all my fellow brothers and sisters, here on The Handgun Hunter Magazine, for your many public, and private messages, of prayers, good will and encouragement. And for the private telephone calls; those which I was able to answer, as well as for those who called when I was not able to reach the phone.

And Thank You Lord Jesus for the many blessings given, from You as well as my friends. Happy Easter to all.
