So I just put a tasco 3-9 rifle scope on my 223 barrel-its gonna be my charlie/varmint killer. WOW--I LOVE IT!!! I was not happy at all with how far i had to stretch my arms with a pistol scope-just made for awkward in my opinion. I can get FULL FIELD OF VIEW all powers with this set up. I have a short brimmed hat and scope goes right to that so i know im safe. With 223 there is pretty much no recoil-I have a bipod and it just sorta jumps up a bit-not towards me at all. I am very tempted to get something for my 308 now-it currently has a 2-7x tc pistol scope on it but i the eer. 308 is not breaked though so I dont know how close I could get to that. I am an extreme beleiver that all smaller calibers should have riflescopes on them. THEY ARE AWESOME!!!!

I did some quick yesterday- I was averaging woodchuck size groups at 100 and 200 yds-- was using wolf ammo just to get rough site in idea. Then a case got stuck after about 15 shots. I never shoot real good groups-i need more practice though but it was definitely great with the riflescope

should work 30-30 don't have that much recoil.give it a try just be ware it is getting close enough to bite.

i would recommend a scope with an A/O....adjustable objective....so you can adjust out parallax for best accuracy. i like the riflescopes on my rimfires and my 14" .223.

I put a cheap 10X40 Tasco on my .243. I loved it for the first 30 shots or so and then couldn't keep the shots on paper. I returned it and put my Baush and Laumb 2X7 pistol scope back on until I buy a new rifle scope. Once you get used to them they are verry likeable. LOL

I am using a rifle scope on my braked .260R Striker. With a Haolland Radial style brake I can get a full FOV.

I dunno about that, in a 10"er the 30-30 jumps pretty good. If a 14 I would say no-prob, but a 10 I would be vewwy caweful.

I have a rifle scope on my HSP 325 WSM & it kicks like a stiff legged mule (even with the brake). Knowing how far back from the scope you need to be takes practice at the range. ALWAYS & I mean ALWAYS !!! wear shooting eye-ware. Too close and you will have a nice scar on the eyebrow or worse.
Is it worth it"" you bet"" I now use only rifle scopes on all of my HSP's

""YEP"", I don't even own a handgun scope, now all of mine wear Leupolds. combination of Mark 4's with ART & mil dot along with a couple of vari X III with varmint reticle.
