I have a Redding with a crank, bought used for $20. It works okay for as much trimming as I have been doing. A power unit would be nice, just can't find enough loose change in my couch.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

The Lee trimmers also work great with a drill attached!! Super economical and accurate.

i like the lil lee hand trimmers, especially in standard calibers, but they can be custom ordered for the oddballs as well.
i have a lyman cranker that works just fine for my odd stuff. i do like the simple universal shellholder on it. a carbide cutter tip is a big plus, although not a cheap addition.

forster should be a good one, but unless you are into many cartridges and shoot excessively(if there is such a thing) the simple/cheap lee system would be dandy imo.

I have the Lyman trimmer and it works well. I need a cardide cutting head. When changing from case to case it takes a little to get it set where you want it. This has got me looking at the Redding 2400. It has a micrometer head for fine tuning. Looks like you get the trimmers rough adjustment and then fine tune with a twist of the head. Might be a bit faster than my Lyman.

I have a Wilson and a Foster trimer. Therre is no question that the Wilson is significantly more accurate then the Foster. Question, do you need the accuracy the Wilson will provide?

The Lee trimmer is hard to beat for speed and consistency especially like dan said if you use a drill. The downsides to the lee is that you can vary case length should you want to and the availability of some pilots can be a problem but they will make custom ones for what every cartridge you want for 15.00. I've had them made for my 458 Lott, 410GNR, 375JDJ and 475 Linebaugh to name a few and if there is something special you want along those lines you just make a post on here for a group buy and the price will drop. I also use a Lyman, I looked at some of the others like the RCBS and Forster but for some reason the Lyman just seemed like a better deal for the money and a top quality piece of equipment. You also have the option with Lyman to upgrade the hand crank model to power driven or buy the power drive model to begin with, the other nice thing is if your doing alot of cases you can buy a carbide cutter to replace the steel one. The lyman also has two adjustments on it, a rough setting and a fine adjustment for fine tuning. I'm guessing maybe Tig has an older model as mine is very quick to set up with the secondary adjustment.

The Lee hand trimmers are what I've used and the price is pretty good/cheap.

I have a Lyman & it works great.
As others have said, the individual Lee's work good too unless you are playing with strange calibers/wildcats. I have several of the Lees but got the Lyman when I was playing with wierd stuff.
