Hello guys. I am looking at a heritage arms 22 long rifle 22 mag revolver. I dont find anything on here about them. I had the oppurtunity to play with a 4 3/4 inch and a 6 1/2 inch today at the gun shop. I was pretty impressed with the trigger on both of them. It was crisp and felt to be around 3 pounds give or take. I just like the way it felt and the weight. I was thinking about getting the 4 3/4 inch to play with and carry around when I am in the hills. The price is great for a beat up gun. Just curious if you guys have any downsides to this neat little AMERICAN made gun.

I can't think of anything good to say about them really. Mine does shoot fairly straight but only after two trips back to the factory then me working the thing over. The frame is made of pot metal or at least on mine it is and when I fire magnums it makes indentations in the frame. Mine has been relegated to slug hunting. I use the aguillo collibro super quiets that are just the bullet and priming material with no powder and my daughter tracks them and I shoot them. Now you have to understand that the slugs we have in the northwest can darn near be saddled and rode. In all seriousness I wouldn't wast your money, they use cheap material and parts. I would put the money toward a nice Single Six, the heriage isn't even in the same galaxy as that gun and you can still find used Single Six's for 250.00-300.00 and you'll have a gun that will last a life time.

To give you an idea of whats gone wrong with mine, the cylinder timing cuts were off so the gun shaved lead, the cylinder latch broke, the trigger spring broke and I finally had it with the safety sticking and took it out even though I probably could have fixed it easily but six guns should'nt have safties. I almost forgot besides the pounding the frame took from the mags the finish (blue?) didn't last very long at all.

My Dad bought one.... ah well..... it goes bang and does sling lead that's all the good I can say about it.

The laoding gate does not fit well to the frame. The grip to frame fit is crude, and the blueing is almost like a browning on rough metal.

My Single Six is 10 times the gun.

All I can say is you get what you pay for. Add 50 or 100 bucks to what you are going to pay for the Heritage & buy a used Single Six. I bought my Single Six used at a local gun shop a couple months ago for $249.

What is the asking price?

I can get either the short or long barrel for $170 with both cylinders. I have been looking at gunbroker for a single six and the are definately nicer.

I know a few people who carry them for woods bumming and while cutting fire wood. their reasoning is its cheap i will not loose much if i loose or destroy it.the same people also carry rugers most of the time.
