In 1995, Larry Weishuhn shot the first Encore handgun and has been the number one fan of T/C’s Encore and Pro Hunter ever since. Long before that, Larry established himself as one of America’s leading whitetail authorities and hunting personalities, earning him the moniker of “Mr. Whitetail”. When Larry teamed up with T/C designers to help conceptualize the Encore platform, his insight proved invaluable. He was the first person in North America to kill big game with the Encore Handgun.

Since then, Larry can be seen any day of the week on Versus, the Outdoor Channel or ESPN2, hunting around the world with his Encore or Pro Hunter Handgun.

To honor Larry Weishuhn and his commitments to both T/C and handgun hunting in the U.S., Thompson\Center is proud to introduce the limited edition signature Encore Pro Hunter handgun in .308. Featuring his signature and personal logo, the handgun package also includes Pachmyer® grips. Nikon Encore scope and a walnut display case.

Complete Hunter Package includes:

15” Fluted barrel chambered in .308 Win
Rubber Pachmayr® grips
Mounted Nikon Encore 2.5x8x28 scope
Soft Carry case
Walnut Display case with the first 100 sold

That's pretty cool. Interesting choice of chambering tho, everytime I saw Larry on TV he was packin' the '06, in a Bandito Belt rig.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

The Larry Weishuhn Signature Series package will have an MSRP of $1,199.

Gotta scroll down to it here

PRETTY NEAT! Thought I saw LW on Versus with a 30-06 or something JDJ more often though? Still a good choice in round for a whitetail wiperouter, IMHO.

That is a nice looking rig! I would be afraid to take it out though.

Put a nice wood grip / forearm on it and include a case and sling --- then you have something real nice-- factory sight in target with--ammo details---If you are going to build a hot rod make sure the new owner knows it will run a 9.80 in the 1/4--when they pull it out of the box

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

It is a very good looking package.
Good choice of a scope for it. 2 thru 8 power is about perfect. 8X for sight in or long shots, and 2X for close in hunting.
For a hunting handgun the Pachmayer Grips and Forend cannot be beat in my opinion. They soak up recoil, and do not get beat up in the field.
We have sling swivels for carry as well as mounting a Harris Bipod. Very Good.
Caliber: 308 Winchester That would be my first barrel choice for one.

Someone at TC knows what they are doing. I did not see very much I would add or change on this hunting handgun. Infact it looks just like both of my Contenders except I have the TSOB Base (6 Screws) with 3 Burris Zee Rings and Burris 2.5 - 7 Scopes. I am really impressed that they installed the sling swivel studs on the Pachmayr Grip and Forend on the Encore. Back when we put my Contenders together my gunsmith fabricated the Sling Swivel studs for mine. Very good addition to the package, practical, and needed.

Add a small canvas Rear Butt Bag a set of scope covers, and a Harris (Model S-BRM with Notch Leg) Benchrest Swivel Bipod with a Pod Loc added, and it is ready to go see which 150 grain bullet to use in it.

If I were the one putting this package together the scope rings would have been the only thing I would have changed. I would have went with 3 Burris Z Rings on it. The ones they have on it are probably just fine, but would not have been my first choice.
