I would like to hear from anyone who has used a factory T/C 375 JDJ Contender barrel. How do they compare to the SSK barrels? I know SSK produces outstanding stuff, but I wonder what the T/C barrel is like.

I have only had a ssk barrel but! I got the loading data from JDJ and in the fine print he put that for some reason the TC barrels were producing more velocity than the SSK barrels. I just wondered why but never foumd out. I have also heard that TC wont chamber there barrels for the 375 JDJ because they feel it has to much pressure for the contender. That must be a bit untrue or maybe they did chamber them for a few years because they are out there.

I've had two of the factory barrels and both shot sub moa pushing 260gr Accubonds at 2100fps. I've only had two SSK barrels and they were in different calibers so I can't speak other than to say that fit and finish on the SSK stuff is nicer but sub moa with that big bullet out of two factory barrels impressed me.

I have an older T/C frame with an SSK stainless barrel in .375 JDJ and am very happy with its quality and how it shoots. It has accounted for a coyote, a few feathered "varmints," and several elk.

I have seen two different T/C factory .375 barrels and they looked fine, although I did not get the opportunity to shoot them. If memory serves me correctly, I gave away a factory T/C Contender (complete) in caliber .375 JDJ some years ago on the HHI Antelope Hunt, which was of course donated by the good folks at T/C.

I have not heard anything negative about the T/C barrels, that can be substantiated, just "rumours."

I've owned one T/C Contender barrel that was stainless steel, 14" long. No muzzle brake on it. Recoil was quite stout, but manageable for me.

I didn't own the barrel long as I needed to fund another project. Often wished I had kept that barrel.

Using the T/C labeled Hand Cannon factory ammo with the 220 grain bullet, my barrel would do an honest 2300 fps. I was suprised to see the chrono display, but pleased non the less.

My barrel would shoot about 1.5" groups at 100 meters with that factory ammo. I'd expect better with good handloads.

Never shot or owned an SSK barrel, so I can't compare them.
