Why is some encore pistols I see new in stores and websites are marked pro hunter on one side and encore on the other but then some are not marked at all? I prefer one in ss and not marked on the sides. I like the no marking clean look.

I found a new non marked ss one in 7mm08 at a store and they wanted 659.00. They did not have it the last time I was in there a few months ago. I found a ss marked frame only for 379.00. I found them little cheaper online though.

The Pro Hunter frame has a swing hammer that can be set to one side or the other so you don't have to put a hammer spur on for low mounted scopes. The Pro Hunter barrels are fluted also. The Encore and Pro Hunter barrels and frames are all interchangable. If I forgot anything one of the other guys will hopefully remember.

This post belongs on Shooters Bench.

I believe the original Encores were plain and the new Pro Hunter models are inscribed as you say.

According to the T/C website both models are still available.

As do most of us, but harder to find every day ;-)

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I hate to pay the retail price on the non marked one I found but I guess I may bight the bullet on this one. Unless I find a good condition used one for a good price.
