Shot my best ever 5 shot group today with my Contender .223. Only 50 yards but I can't shoot any better. Group measured .177. Harry

Wow! Harry that is awesome. I think that you've found a good load for that .223. Care to share it?
My best 100 yard 5-shot groups with my HS Precision .223 have been about 1/2" with RL7 and 40 grain V-Maxes.

My load is 23 grains of N133 behind a Hornady 50 grain Vmax with moly coating. Safe in my gun maybe not yours.

The 223 is a very accurate round. Mine likes the 50gr pills also.

Very nice group. Contenders can shoot some amazing groups.
What kind of rest were you using?
I shoot mine off a harris bipod most of the time.
