I am planning on buying an Ultradot30 for my DW 744,will the rings that come with it mount onto the vented barrel? Will i need different rings or mounting system? I've never mounted a scope on a revolver befor, thanks for any feedback.

The Ultradot comes with Weaver Style Rings. You should be able to tell looking at your gun if a Weaver Style Ring will work on it. Also keep in mind the length of an Ultradot. You have 4.5 Inches outside to outside on ring spacing to work with.

If a Dan Wesson takes some other type of a ring, Weigand Combat, and Warne make a base for it.
