Went on a little juant today to Freedom Arms to check on a handgun, when you leave Soda Springs, Idaho there's not much out there except the highway & lots of mountains all the way to Freedom, Wyoming.

70 miles of beautiful, wild country, a few farm houses along the way, lots of cattle grazing, also a few wild critters.

Spotted this cow moose on an open side hill, she probably had a calf stashed in the brush.

I hammered a few ground squirrels before dark using the 32 maggie & the Lipseys 44 special. I sure love me new Barranti, Hank Sloan holster, the cant is perfect for the 44, it rides the hip like a credit card in my wallet.

Had to take a better close up of the Hank Sloan style holster, Mike also made the belt & a nifty cartridge holder (dang it! left it home!) Thats a badger track on the holster....thanks Mike!

Three neat old buildings, a bunk house, cook shack & a small barn, long abandoned & forgotten.

Hope you enjoyed the "ride", Dick

Beautiful country! I always liked the northwest runs when I was driving.

So Dick, did you get the FA?

Wheelguns, Ruger made a special run of 100 guns for the Shootists members, these are beautiful guns, all 44 special, 7 1/2" barrel, high luster blue. These are Bisley flattops and have special engraving, the fit & finish is superb. This is the first time ever that Ruger has made a special serial number for a run like this, they are #1 to #100 & won't be repeated. Mine wasn't there yet, have to wait a few days, but its worth the wait.

Hey Dick...remember those gnats or mosquitoes where we stopped along Tin Cup Creek? Talk about wildlife!

Dick, are you a member of the Shootists? I remember reading about the get togethers on Taffins site years ago.

Ken, I do remember you & I stopping to do a little shooting on Tin Cup Creek. I had Callshot with me & him & I stopped at the exact same spot as you & I did the year before....& the results were the same! We hadn't been outside the car for 2 minutes & you couldn't even open your mouth the skeeters were so bad, we both fired one cylinder full on the hillside & took off, there must have been 50 of them in the car with us. We took the same cut off as last year but didn't see any elk, did spot one moose & I muffed the picture, zoomed it but couldn't hold it steady.

Tigger, yes I'm a member of the Shootists, not sure but I think there are just over 100 members, the total always stays the same, its by invitation only & you're a member for life. A very unique collection of gun men from all over the US, I'm very proud to be one of them.
