I heard tonight from Leupold and they are going to have new handgun scopes in '05. I haven't found out what yet but I'll let you know as soon as I get some details.

maybe more x's than they have now, ya reckon? i bet the 3x12 burris has made them see the light. a really high straight power ler for bench shootin, and long range would be nice. something like xphunters 20x conversion.

don't know what other options they'd have to try

COOL!! I just hope the price is not out of sight! Tough to beat the value and price of Burris.

I think they're beginning to realize there's a market for a higher power variable. Been talking to Pat Mundy @ Leupold some about this very thing-- we'll see. They're also probably gonna be coming out with a custom reticle dept. also-- guess we'll see about that too.

They have to do something. The Burris' are king of the handgun scopes, in my humble opinion. I had a Leupold 4X handgun scope and it sucked at dawn and dusk. It just would not pick up the light as well as Burris.

It was funny, 3 handgunners throwing this scope around between us like a hot potato, nobody wanted it after trying it. Leupold rifle scopes are great, but they need to do something with their handgun scopes.

Well I got the product flier today from Leupold and it's still the same 3 basic models, the 2x, 4x, and 2.5.8. They are following suit with the EER scopes changes to be in line with the rifle scopes. They new designations are FX for fixed and VX-III for the variable model. I suspect they've upgraded the glass a bit but we'll see. I was hoping for something like a 15x EER with a nice big AO capable objective. Guess not this year...

Gary, I just recieved an e mail from a Burris rep yesterday.
They say their 2005 line will remain the same but there will be some huge changes in 2006. He didn't elaborate on exactly what those changes are, so go figure.

OK, so same quality or a little better, and the same power ranges. Any word on price? Hope it has not gone up.

Nothing included on price but they would be quoting retail anyway.
