Two days of pd'ing were great with Slim taking a pd @ 1070 yards with 223 Contender. Another guy took a pd at 1244 yards using a rifle.
I nailed pd at 345 yards with Steve's factory Ruger charger (22 long rifle).
Those were the distance highlights for the pd's.
Mark and Karen helped thin the herd out as well but were going more for volume than distance.

Everyone had a great time.
I will post on the shoot later.

We had 20 competitors for this years match. This was the largest group we have had!
We had 10+ folks cancel out because of various reasons or we could have had over 30 competitors.

Here are the winners of the different classes.

1,000 yard heavy gun--Erik Bishop
1,000 yard light gun--Ernie Bishop

750 yard heavy gun--Jim Handley (Jim was using my McRee stocked XP that Gregg R. shot last fall).
750 yard light gun--Ernie Bishop

500 yard heavy gun--Steve Martens
500 yard light gun--Ernie Bishop
500 yard iron sight match--Shooting IHMSA positions--Steve Martens

Roving Field Course- Tie for first--Mark Hampton & Ernie Bishop

I will be glad to explain anything about the match that you guys have questions about.

Ernie,

Congratulations on a great time and some fantastic shooting! Looks like you and Erik were on your respective games!

Question for you - What were the shooting situations for the Roving Field course?

Field course was 11 tgts. shot from several different stations engaged 1 or 2 times each. We were supposed to have several diferent gps. going through at different times, but time was of the essence as it was the last event that began late on the last day. Even with only 6 shooters it still took more time than we expected and there were still trophies to be given and tgts. to pull. I DQ'd right after the 1st shot, as my Sav. Striker wnet belly up (imagine that), so i defaulted to unofficial RO/score keeper for that shoot, with rules changing at each station (even missed station 3 due to time constraints). There were 8 + 10" square steel tgts. mostly set up at ~250-450 yds. and 1 9x17 incher at ~550 and 613 yds. Mark and Ernie almost aced it but for 1 shot each.

Reticle-ranging tgts. were set up at ~230 and 292 respectively, and most nailed it on the 1st shot. One was set at 290 that was to be engaged from kneeling and/or sitting. Most got that one too. It'll probably be a harder course next time. Fun time though.

Winds ranged from 3mph to about 15mph, from a variety of different directions.
Had we had more time, we would have had a few targets that were further, and reticle ranging would have been further also.
It was a lot of fun.
Look forward to be able to do a full course next year.

I guess we are going to have to make it more challenging next year.
Those who shot the course, now have an idea of what to expect. There will likely be a time constraint for each stage as well.

Just a heads ups, there will be a time limit for each shooter next year on the field course.
