I have a 357 ruger with a six inch barrel. What would be a good scope for about 100 yards in the 200.00 price range if possible? Thank you.

2X Burris or Leupold, IMHO. I now use mainly 4X scopes on my revolvers, but I started with 2Xs. Better field of view on the 2Xs.
It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

I have a red dot on my GP100, nice and compact. I don't do much shooting past 50 yards with that one, but would feel comfortable at 100 on a large target.
Rod, too.
Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I've seen NC scopes 2x-7x for 54 dollars, don't know if there any good but might be worth a look as the .357 wouldn't really be that hard on them and I believe they have a lifetime warranty.I personally use red dots because most of my hunting is 50 yards or less.

I bought a 357 with an NCStar 4X on it....That scope is the biggest piece of crap I've ever tried to look through.

I have a Bushnell Trophy on type of my 686. I love it. its clear and the 2x is perfect for 50 yards or less, but if i need to reach out a little further I have the zoom. Anything over 2x inside of 50 yards will hurt more than it helps IMHO. I think I gave less than 150 for it a few years ago.

I have a Simmons Pro hunter 2X6 on my 460XVR with 8 inch barrel. Ive run 150 rounds thru it and so far its held zero and looks great. Took my first handgun deer with it last season. I leave it on 2X and crank it up if I need it. Should handle 357 recoil OK.
