I was wondering what you guys use to remove the burn marks on a stainless steel revolver. My 460XVR has them on the muzzle brake area and on the cylinder near each hole. Just doesn't look clean with them there. Any suggestions?

Anything that survives the wipedown with #9 is meant to be there. It builds character ;-)
Rod, too.

Flitz works great but M-Pro 7 with a brass brush will remove almost all carbon. I use a suede brush or one of those cheap ones from Wall Mart. M-Pro 7 is water based made to remove carbon from military cannons. After I clean a cylinder I just flush it with hot water or patch it out. It has no abrasives in it.

I use Flitz with a stainless brush or Birchwood Casey Lead Remover and Polishing Cloth backed up with a stainless brush for those tight areas. Pete

They make a rag with a compound on it that I got for this very thing. Will look for it and post the name of the product later(sorry @ a different local at this time) My local gun shot told and sold it to me, but be advised DO NOT use it to whipe blued guns it takes the blue off very nicely. Will get the name and post later. But works very very well. Jim

If my normal gun cleaners won't remove it, I don't go any further. So I guess...

Kleen Bore has a product called Lead Away that will make your stainless guns look new. A friend just told me about it. All those black marks that I thought were permanent disappeared instantly. Just a quick wipe down and all the black build up is gone. Don't use it on blued guns though.
