You'll love it!

Nice Mike! I haven't bought an optic for mine yet. Thinking I'll just go with a 2X or a variable. Burris most likely, but a Leup would be nicer.

Mike, nice rig. I think you are going to be happy with it. I really like the looks of those grips with that stainless. They compliment each other. And no I'm not some interior design fruit cup! LOL!

Mike I think you will really like it. My dealer has had one in 44 in the display case for over 6 months now. I keep looking at it.

He got a Redhawk Hunter the other day. That was the first one of them that I had seen, other than in pictures.

Now to decide what ammo to use in it.
I would think that you would be very close to some good deer hunting, and large bucks in your area. If not North Missouri is not that far away for you.
Good Hunting.

I picked up a 44mag Bisley Hunter about 2 months ago and Love it! I have had it out at the range every weekend developing loads. If you reload, you may find this useful.

Here is the most accurate load I have found to date will put all 6 cylinders in 1" from a seated bench rest at 25 yards repeatedly.

String: 2
Date: 08/09/10
Time: 05:01:05 PM
Grains: 240

1503 360.72 1203.74
1473 353.52 1156.16
1522 365.28 1234.36
1488 357.12 1179.83

Just for comparison here is data from the Hornady Factory 240gr XTP, also very tight group but not as good as the load listed above.

1481 355.44 1168.75
1484 356.16 1173.49

I run loads up and down all the way to 25.2gr and played with mag and non mag primers (very little difference regardless of charge). 24.0gr of H110 was constantly far more accurate than any other load. Even bumping up to 24.5gr would almost double the grouping to 2" at 25 yards. The group would tighten back up some at 25.0gr but for the slight increase in velocity it just wasn't worth it. Of course this was in my gun with my hands in 85-90deg temps at 1500' elevation. But it may be a good starting point.

I had the Blackhawk version of that years ago in 44 mag. I know that runs of the Hunter have been in 44 mag, 41 mag and 45 LC. I hope one day I can run across someone that wants to sell their 45 LC. The Hunter's are very nice pistols.
