I'll be selling a couple coyotes shortly (tanned) up in Cripple Creek for whatever i can get out of them. Got a couple buddy's that were netting 15-30 a piece this year from Colorado-quality furs.

Pick up a copy of Fur-Fish-Game magazine. Every month they have a "fur report" showing current prices being paid by fur buyers.

Thanks for the reference. That looks like a really good magazine. I have my subscription started!

Before I went over sea's I was in a predator hunting club here in the valley area. I know they sold fur's once a year if they had enough, but I never found out how they found thier buyer or anything like that. Id like to go back but I started night scool and there's just know time right now. Ill be lucky to sneak in a deer hunt this year.

I sell a half dozen or so each year; there is a fur buyer out of Nebraska that makes a route through Colorado and other states and will buy them whole on the carcass. $5 to $25 is what I have gotten for my Colorado 'yotes and don't have to skin them. when I kill one I bag it in a 50 gallon garbage bag and throw in my big chest freezer until I can meet up with Petska. There is one in the freezer now. lol http://www.petskafur.com

Tanning hides isn't expensive at all. I use to do it a lot years ago. It is more time comsuming then anything.

I guess I'll have to start asking around here in VA. We have plenty of 'yotes.

This article showed up in my inbox today. Pretty straightforward tanning process. Haven't tried it myself, but the article is reprinted from 2001, so it must have some merit. I like that and am going to try it. Ive read other reeipes that were more costly and labor intense and left a tanning solution behind that I wouldnt know what to do with it where I live
