My trigger guard bites me when I shoot my BFR in 454 Casull. I am right handed so I place my left index finger under the trigger guard for support and recoil control. When I shot my RSB many years ago the recoil never got my index finger. Can this be reduced for I am sure it has a bearing on my shooting after a while. Thanks in advance.

The .454 has a very sharp recoil. Don't put your finger where it hurts!

I have the same issue with my SBH hunter. I ignore it for the most part, but it does bite.

Its hard to shoot well if the gun hurts your finger . I have the same problem with my Bisley and Blackhawk .45s.My solution has been grips with a filler behind the trigger guard.Hogue and Pachmayer grips work very well for me on the Blackhawks. Grips for Bisley's are a problem ,as only eagle grip company makes a grip with a filler for this grip frame. My solution was to make my own. There are a couple of pictures of the .45 Bisley and grips on the bragging board with a cross draw holster I also made. If you cant find what you want, or can afford, make your own.

Junebug, any chance we could get you to trace the outline of your grips? If you could scan it and put it on the Bragging Board that'd be cool. I have plenty of wood and I wouldn't mind taking a whack at making my own Bisley grips like yours. Your design makes a lot of sense.

Mike, look at the way you grip your gun. I found by lowering my grip I had better control and no bit. Or you can try a thin soft pair of leather gloves it helps the grip too.

A good set of grips go a long way.Try moving your index finger to the front of the trigger guard.

Had the same problem in my FA 454. Get a good comfortable pair of shooting gloves. By the way Mr. John Taffin calls that the "Casull Knuckle".
