Wondering there is anyone in Alabama (central to southern part) that is having a problem with hogs and needs them taken out or wouldn't mind if someone came to get one or two. I am back home for some training and looking to get some hunting in before deer season starts up and before I have to head back to Las Vegas. Any an all help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if I posted this in the correct section or not and if not I apologize. Just a displaced southern guy that wants to hunt his home state. Thanks

Also forgot to mention that I am willing to work for rights to hunt, but due to my schedule can only work on the weekends.

Good luck JumpinJack! One of my good friends from school is a forester in Ala., but he doesn't have hogs where he lives.

Finally got some permission to hunt this 3 day weekend. Gained access to 10K acres that has a small river and various creeks with a mix of hardwoods and pines throughout. Hopefully can down a hog and get some scouting for deer in.

The only thing that sucks is my hunting partner in FL can't make it up here for the hunt so I will have to use either my .308 or bow. Was really looking forward to using his .44 and .357 to narrow down my next purchase, when funds are available. Plus it would be awesome to take a hog with a handgun.

Well didn't get any hogs this weekend. Thanks to some poachers/unethical hunters the landowner found several hogs shot and just left there to rot so he closed hog hunting until bow season starts for deer so that there is more eyes around to monitor what is going on. So I will see how next weekend goes.

Sorry to hear that -- there always seems to be some jerk around that spoils things for everyone else -- seems to be the one constant in this world.

You do not understand that to any landowner involved in commercial agriculture --- dammhog is one word. Put a bullet in him anywhere you can and hope that he winds up dead. Here they are hunted from airplanes & helicopters with shotguns. They are considered vermin ---- worse than skunks and almost as bad as rattlesnakes. They are definitely not a "game animal" here.

It's more important where you hit 'em, than what you hit 'em with.

I understand that agriculture takes a huge hit from hogs but this is not farmed property this is 10k acres of woods that is managed for deer and hogs and someone trespassed and started killing hogs. Even if it were agriculture land at least turn the animals in to hunters for the hungry. The only animals I don't eat that I hunt is coyote, everything else is for the table. And if I kill more than my family can eat it does not go to waste.

To the farmer, I agree..... That said, they make great table fare, are a blast to hunt, are smarter than any whitetail and a more challenging hunt IMHO.
