I'd greatly appreciate knowing what is a good, reasonably priced, nylon/synthetic shoulder holster purely for hunting with a revolver? I want to wear it on the outside of a hunting jacket. I am very new to hunting with a handgun
I do not need one for concealment... can't believe the sites for concealment... I already have one for licensed carry in my pocket.
Thanks,
Mike

The Uncle Mike's shoulder holster is the most economical nylon holster.

I went a slightly different route.

Boyt Green Canvas Rectangular Handgun Case. Add 1" D Rings to the handle straps just above all 4 attachemnt points to the case. Attach a sling and carry it shoulder holster style. I am using an MP5 adjustable sling on my packing around case. I can adjust it short and loop it over 2 of the 1" PVC stakes on the front of my Polarus Ranger bed, with the case suspended on the back of the seat for easy access. Carry it over your shoulder like a possible bag with access to the pistol out the end. Take the sling off and use it as a padded case.
On a big gun with a scope, this method of carry seems to work pretty well. It also keeps the gun from getting banged up getting in and out of tree stands.

I've been using a set-up similar to Bob R's for the season so far. I do have a 3pt harness I salvaged from an old 'chest' holster that I use instead of a sling.

The Uncle MIke's would be a good choice. Used one for years.

It's not the gun, but the man behind it.

I have a Bianchi Hush that I have had for a number of years.
Not sure if they still make it, but I sure like mine.

They still make the Hush, but it's twice the price of the Uncle Mike's. I have a Bianchi for my 480 scoped SRH.

As a side note the American Rifleman has a good article on Bianchi and his business this month. I liked it, very informative. He is a true American.

Jsjmag, Whitworth, and all others with very helpful advice,
Thanks! Never knew ther were so many great holsters out there.
Gonna hold off for now due to trading in the Heritage for a 22 MAG, Crickett/Chipmunk Hunter Pistol... the 10.5 " barrel and Williams Fire Sights were too much to resist!
Was getting pretty good with the Heritage bench resting at 50 yds.... just couldn't get used to their iron sights. If I had bought one with a 9 " barrel and adjustable sights I might have kept it... oh well.
Again, thanks for all the great suggestions,
Mike
