Anyone ever hunt with 44special loads.
Reason being Lipseys has a nice ruger bisley in 44 special.
I know Elmer Kieth took a lot of game with that cartridge.
I know it can be load fairly warm
Any thoughts?

Yea I heard of the runs they were doing,

And bought the first of each to come to Colorado!

The classic Keith load, a 250gr Keith bullet at 1200fps, can be easily dogested in these guns now and forever without fear. I have over 3000 rounds through the 4 5/8" gun and 1500 plus through the Bisley, they are as tight as the day I bought them. My standard load in the Bisley is a 260gr LFN at 1000fps and the same bullet at 865fps in the 4 5/8" gun.

I have run both of these guns with the classic Keith load without issues other that it is just a warmer/more muzzle blast load than I want to shoot all of the time. In the Bisley grip frame the Keith load is a easy load to shoot, I don't care for it in the standard grip frame but it still works. Extremely accurate in both of my guns.

With a 250gr+ hard cast bullet at 1000fps or more I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a Elk with one. For deer sized game it is all you could ask for at iron sighted ranges. The cartridge and guns also work with 300gr bullets at 1050fps and it would plow through a mountain of game before it ran out of steam.

Buy one, I highly suggest it!
