Dry fire 10,000 times and it might work. But so will a dry trigger.
A ceramic stone does a fast job. Then a good lube.

Wish I were smart enough to know where to polish!

You could buy a Wolff spring kit to lighten your trigger pull.

With the BFR you can use the Ruger trigger springs. I prefer the 30oz. The best way to do a New Model Ruger is to either invest in a set of pins or make your own. By pins I'm talking about a set of pins you put in the existing pin holes in the frame that allow you to slip the trigger and hammer on the outside of the frame and see the mating surfaces. In any mass produced items there will be variations and this allows you to see how these two pieces will mate with the specific spacing of your frame. I believe the ones you can buy are less than 20.00 and they are the way to go. I have several sets in case I misplace one but they are definitely the way to go. Besides the springs and pins to polish the hammer/trigger engagement points I also polish the transfer bar and basicly any moving part where friction comes into play. Once I have the sear engagment and all the parts of the action that need stoning done I use a felt polishing wheel and polish all the internal parts. The transfer bar on the ruger makes it very hard to get the trigger as crisp as an old colt or old model Ruger or even the FA's but you can get it close. From time to time I will use abrasive paste which is what the toothpaste is supposed to replace and I'll use a brush to apply it to all engagement points and friction surfaces to do the final seating of the parts. I also use the Brownells Round Hammer struts with the 17lb Wolff spring that is supplied. Some will argue that using the lighter hammer spring will cause misfires or a slower lock time but in all reality you'll never notice the lock time and if it's misfiring with a 17lb spring something else is wrong. I've played with the heavier hammer springs up to 24lb but all that does is increase the trigger pull weight you just tried to reduce. Anyways these are the methods I use and the facts I've observed for what it's worth.

I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on. I don't do these things to other people, and I require the same from them. John Wayne-The Shootist

so many different tooth paste, so few triggers. Big decision: use extra whitening pwer or more flouride action?? LOL!!

Just joking with ya!! I use moly lube and it really helps.
