It is like shooting with a laser--My buddy Tyler shot a hog 125lbs or so with one from a 454 I saw the bullet hit from about 100yds away thru may bios and It looked like a red laser--knocked the hog to the ground and about 60 seconds later it got up--he shot it 2 more times before it went down again..Not sure if this helps or hurts but it is info you can mull on--
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I think part of the problem is that type of ammo doesn’t do well on small game. I think it would take an elk size game for that ammo to shine. JMHO though...

Animals sometimes run off and the type of ammo is not the culprit. Some have an extremely strong "will" to live syndrome. I shot this pig and knocked him down, he proceeded to get up and ran off. Miraculously leaving no blood trail. The ammo or cartridge was definitely not a fault IMHO & E

Guts, these blasted things will stop bleed out at times,I,ve encountered this when bowhunting.I use expandables for great, short blood trails but have encountered the above problem a couple of times through the years.

Great points! After JWP posted that comment I thought of the pig I spine shot with an arrow last year and still ran off over 50 yards…
