has anyone seen this gun yet 500 bone collector from s&w from performance center.only 1000 made lookes cool 10.5 in barrel /8 port compensator/laser engraved frame .its feld gray.and polished barrel and cylinder. dont have pics seen it in a mag called on target.

Got a Cabelas paper in the mail yesterday and the gun was in there for $1249. The gun is beautiful but I don't feel the need to pull the trigger on a .500......right now. lol

It looks good. I guess the porting would be ok, as you will have a head set on shooting it anyway. The sling points are a good thing, I have them on my Contenders. Brass and Bullets are about the same price as any other large bore handgun. Several good looking cast bullets, and moulds available. Add an UltraDot 30mm in Black, and I think it would work fine for the reloading big game hunters among us.

They're not so bad to shoot, to be perfectly honest. They weigh a lot and that negates recoil. I've shot some .454s that were a lot worse.

i hunt with 500 BFR mag not bad till you really go hot with them 440/500 gr then recoil is felt. alot lol. but shooting any thing 350 and down factory loads are really not bad.

I owned a PC 460 and was a good gun. Took a whitetail at 175 yds with it. However, the 82 oz. do very little to tame that beast, especially with the heavier loads like the 395 gr Corbon. I am getting better groupings and much more pleasure out of my new TC Encore .460 FWIW.

I tested and used that CorBon load (395 grain) in a .460 XVR a year or two ago and it wasn't the most pleasant load I have shot, but I have others that are worse because they are light in weight. Maybe I'm just getting numb.....

Yeah, that is when I tested the XVR -- it was a very accurate revolver.
