Outside of a 45-70, do any of you guys own rifles in 40 caliber and above??? I have a Ruger m77 mk2 in 416 Rigby. I hunt with my handguns but I can never get rid of my rifles. They can be individual works of art...

Does a custom 54 Flintlock count?

What about a 40-65 Sharps?

I have a .416 Remmie that I have been lately itching to hunt with again -- it's been a number of years since I wacked a pig with one.

Got rid of my .458 Lott a few years ago and just last year traded off my .458 win mag.

Just a guide gun for now, but I have an Encore rifle frame thats itching for a .475 Linebaugh barrel. And I'm always looking for a deal on a 45 lc Marlin lever. But really don't have a use for any big Safari rifles at the time.

Win. mod 94 Trapper in 44 mag (don't know if pistol calibers count).
Marlin Guide Gun in 450 Marlin
Various traditional muzzleloaders in 45 cal - 54 cal.

And what do you have against the 45-70...
;\)

Load them babies up where they belong in a Guide Gun & it will kill anything in North America (on the planet really) comfortably.
Carried my 450 Marlin Guide Gun with hardcast 420s @ 1825fps hunting brown bear in some really thick junk yesterday & can not think of a rifle/caliber combo that I would have preferred to have in my hand...

Never had a 40+ caliber rifle. My brother had the big ones and I shot them a few times...... Not of me.
