My contender arrived and I'm having a blast. Following MGMs instructions to a T re: breaking the barrels in. I am having some trouble sighting it in. She is really sweet to shoot though. Tips!

One of the best things to do is give some of the guys a call who said they would help. You can ask questions and get answers a lot quicker on the phone IMO.

Congrats Annie on your new T/C G2. I'm jealous, I want one. I guess I'll have to start saving my pennies. Ernie and others. Great job on helping out. I know I have had many questions answered by this fine group of folks and have learned alot. And I know I will have many more questions in the future.

Hey guys I think I got it. I shot groups of 3. Once I figured out where it was going (like 5" to the right of the page) I was able to start moving my group around. I shot 25 times yesterday..all tight around center! Oh Yeah
Just took figuring it out! Thanks for all the help I love this gun

Good for you! Looking at the number, I joined HHI in 2004 and my number is 8088. I don't know when you joined but if it was recently, its sad to see such a small number of additional people added in that 6 year period. Thats the reason that I really like to see newcomers coming into the sport! Keep shooting Annie!!

I LOVE my 7x30!!!
120grn Vmax has been deadly on everything I shot.
Mines sighted in dead on @ 200yds.
Mines just a factory barrel and I've been pleased with it.
I think its a rule around here if you get something new that you have to post pics.

Ammo ... why did you sight yours in at 200? You must be in an area that your shots are longer?

I just joined about 6 months ago. You know when people see my T/C and I tell them it is a 7x30 most of the time they don't even know what it is! This is a great site. If the membership numbers are accurate, it is a shame more don't join
I still want to be the next woman to hunt Antelope at Gregg's hunt!

Yep, my shots are longer out here in South Dakota.
My longest with the 7x30 is 350yds on a 'Lope doe.
Normally stalking on the plains you can get to 200yds pretty easily if you pay attention.
But there have been times when there is ZERO cover and longer shots are required.
I've since added some better long range calibers, but the 7x30 is still one of my favorites.
