Well the truck is packed up, 4 wheeler loaded and ready to go! Going to my lease in the morning and will be the new 30/30AI's maden trip. Got her loaded with the 125gr B-tips @ about 2600fps. Hunting will be from a tripod stand with shooting rails so should be able to get a pretty steady hold. Now if I can only do my part? Will try and give a report tomorrow night........

Good luck. Just put a tranny in the 4x4 and it's loaded. Got the arrows all sharpened. Supposed to be 9 degrees in the morning. We have a few more days before we break out the pistols and have 3 doe days for the end of the season.
Just picked up an older 30-30 14" and I'm having it chambered to a AI. Can't wait.

Be sure to fill us in, still haven't heard from the last hunt with the 7-08. Don't come back without a story about a kill, or an "almost "shot . Hope to hear some good news

Kyle,
Do you even remember where your 30-30AI is?
Good Luck, Randy!

Well guys...........Sorry it took so long to get back on! I've been doing x-mas with everybody and everywhere. Anyway...........only got a few minutes, trying to turn in early. As for a quick rundown on the hunting with the 30/30AI........I did get to go a couple times and finally got my first "Handgun" deer. Nothing to write to home about but just a nice little 8 point. The shot was'nt that great either, only about 60 yards. After the shot he ran only 30 yards before piling up. Certainly not my biggest deer, but definatly one of the most exciting ones.
Anyway.........the 30/30AI is definatly a keeper! I chronoed my handloads @ 2525fps out of my custom 13" barrel with the 125grn ballistic tips. Very mild and pleasant to shoot.
Well, gonna try in the morning with 6.5JDJ.........and it wont take as long to give the next report! And by the way Gary......Love the new Bragging board! Thanks!!!!

Thanks to everyone for listening!

Beautiful buck Randy! Congrats! It's sure encouraging to here about the 30-30 AIs scoring. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing just judging from the posts, that it's the single most successful big game cartridge used on this board.

wahhhhhhh...haaaaaaa....sniffle...boooo hooooo

it is still in high regards here though! i did shoot it earlier in the season. it was sighted in and ready on the line, right behind the 300 win mag that turned out to be real fun also.
then there's the 7-08 that was chompin to get another kill. they are just gonna have to be patient with me
