My two handgun hunters flipped a coin and Dennis from SSK Industries called "EDGE,"... I thought I heard him say "HEADS" and the coin showed tails, so Pat from New York had the first shot opportunity.

(Dennis later claimed he would have passed on this buck anyway).

Pat scored on this medium-frame but nice heavy-mass 5X5 buck, at about 100 yards, with his Contender in .307 Winchester Improved. I didn't do a very good job at filming this one, though.

A few days later, Dennis shot this respectable four by four at about 180 yards, with his .308 Encore (nick-name "Flamer"). I was able to get this shot sequence on video film.

If you had a T/C worked on by SSK, chances are Dennis had a part in it.

Thank all of you for your nice comments. I am intentionally leaving out the "goodies details" hoping Pat and Dennis will post.

No prob, Rod. Oh...I want to change part of the red flames on my design over to more of a blue mix...kind of like "Blueish White Hot..."

Just Kidding!!!

As we post, Rod (Dixie Gunworks) is customizing my Ruger Single Six in .17 HMR, by customizing/making a second convertible cylinder in .17 Mach 2, also shortening the barrel, customizing the sights, and over-all finishing the gun.

Gregg, nice bucks and good times. I wonder if Dennis did the work on my TC I won at the HHI hunt this year. By the way I got it and it is a darn fine gun. Like the muzzel break on it and it is proving to be very accurate. I may have to get up with you out there and try it out on one of those mullies.

Hi Craig,

Thank you!!!

I bet you a dollar that you can not see the line between the add-on muzzle brake and the barrel. And yes, Dennis did your brake; as he does all of them at SSK.

You will need to start accumulating Preference Points for Colorado Mule Deer in the areas that I outfit, in order to draw a license, so contact me after January 2011 (but before April) and we will get that process started. It will take one to two or more years so don't procrastinate.

Gregg

You are correct. When I got it back I thought SSK put a new barrel on the thing. Its almost impossible to see the line. Its a real joy to shoot. I will get up with you in January or February. Glad to see you made it out to hunt this year.

I hunted deer for myself two mornings and one evening. I filmed a nice little two by two as he came within about 30 yards of me, but I did not even draw my Custom Ruger .475 from its leather holster.

I also tried to wrangle a stalk on a decent 4X4 on public land and could of hammered him with a single shot, but he slipped away in the cedars before I could get within revolver range. I also played hide and seek with a big three by three and again, could have had the longer range shot at him but couldn't get within revolver range.

My main objective though was my handgun hunters getting their bucks, and I am happy with that.
