I know several folks have had their issues with Taurus and the Raging Bull Series of large caliber handguns, but mine has been a truely fine revolver. Last night while hunting with my daughter, something I don't get much of an opportunity to do anymore, had a doe out in front of us at 45 yards and she said take it dad. I lined up the shot and the rest is history. This gun with the 325 XTP factory loads is a real tack driver out to 100 yards. I did make the mistake and not putting ear plugs in and am paying for it today. I did tell the my daughter to put her fingers in her ears which thankfully she did. Ported barrels do reak havoc on ones hearing.

Congrats! I've not had any issues with my Taurus guns, excluding 1, a Tracker in 357 Mag with "ruff" chambers. The other 15 or so have been excellent. 17s, 22s, 30M1, 357s, 41s, 44s ,45s (ACP, Colt), 454s, 480s.

Congrats on the doe. I took my 1st the other day with a .480 as well, in a TC Encore with 11" barrel. Useing the same factory load as you.

Thanks guys. Yep that 480 packs a wallop. This gun has been successful on several hogs as well. Still several weeks left in our deer season so hopefully more meat in the freezer to come with this gun.

I killed several deer and exotics w/ my Raging Bull 454 and I never had a problem with it. I sold it though after being bitten by the single shot bug.

Its funny cause I carry both my single shot and usually an open sighted revolver as well. One for the long range shooting the other for close in work.

I do that a lot! Encore in hand and a 4 5/8 RBH in 44 on the belt. I am glad to see I am not in left field. LOL

There are a lot of pigs down here. If you have ever been growled at by a big boar at “dark 30" you would want one too. Even with a 4D cell Mag light I couldn’t see him.

TCman, where I hunt we have a lot of bears and some darn big ones. Of course when ever I go to hunt them their never around, last week case in point. I have had them visit me in my deer stand on more then one occasion and always just before sunrise or just after sunset. Makes for some interesting moments.
