Ok I am really debating on putting an EoTech 557 on my Performance Center TRR8 what do you think? is it over kill? I have a guy that has one and he is wanting to trade me the scope and 200 for a 686 that I have so you think this is a good trade or should I sell the pistol out right and buy a cheaper scope like a leupold or a burris fastfire? Sorry for all the questions but the pistol hunting and shooting has gotten in my blood but I do not want to go over board if I do not have to.

Ken,

I have the EoTech 557 on one of my AR's - I would suggest going with either a conventional scope or red dot than the EoTech on a pistol. Mounted on a revolver, it would extremely bulky...plus the 557 has the ballistic reticle calibrated for the .223...

Several of the members on here love the Ultradot for a tube-style red dot, while others prefer the smaller format of the FastFire/J-Point/Delta Point - hopefully they'll weigh in.

I agree with SChunter on the ET mounted on a pistol being bulky. Great sights but not designed for this application.
