mhmranch....I shoot the .275 gr XPB Barnes in my .460 S&W and I have no trouble at all knocking Deer off their feet one shot kills in their tracks. I can touch holes at 100 yds if i do my part, and I have posted a pic of a 8 pt I just killed Nice size Buck for Va. a few weeks ago. and I hit him in left front shoulder and the bullet exit on off side rear hind quarter and left a golf ball size hole. The distance of the shot was 75 yds. I have tried the 200gr. and they dont shoot as accurate. I have tried the 200gr SST from Hornady and they do not group well either.

Hey Ranch. Go to Hodgdon's web site and download some free loading info.

I harvested a deer last weekend with a 275grn Barnes. The results were quite impressive, but I have little to compare to. They are very accurate out of my gun (Smith performance center 460), but might take some working with to get the right load for you.

As far as load data, I would look at Barnes' website. My personal load was 37.4grn of AA #9, which is a little shy of what Barnes lists as their max load.

I use Hornady brass to load the Barnes bullets. I tried a some Starline, but I did not seem to get any neck tension and even had a few of the Barnes bullets spinning in the cases... I am not sure if I got a bad batch of Starline with thin walls, but it was enough for me to use Hornady brass for my hunting loads.

Sorry....my Hornady brass is all from factory loads that I shot during the fist 6 months of owning the gun. For some reason, brass is really hard to come by for the 460...
