So I've been thinking about this some and just out of curiosity what kind of information would you like to see as it relates to powders?

I was wondering the same thing. I have a chart that rates each powder acccording to burn rate, but other than that if it goes boom it must be good powder ;-)

Rod, too.

Info as to what the powder would be used for ie blue dot I recently learned is for Mag. Handgun and shotgun shells.
It would be nice to be able to find a spot that would list the dif. powders there uses it would be nice to know if the powder burned clean or dirty, recommendation if the powder burned better at a certain grain over hotter or weaker loads

I just need some data to decide on powders for different calibers

That is easy, just go to Hodgies website and plug in the info. You will get a few options for each bullet weight. If you do a little research you can whittle those options down to the one that fits your need.

Or, just git a can o' Trail Boss. Fill 'er to the brim and stuff a hunk of lead and go shootin ;-)

Nite,

Wolfe publishing has a book which is a compilation of the column "Propellant Profiles" from their Handloader magazine. It is an intense review of most cannister powders available to reloaders. It is a wealth of info for a reasonable price!

Do not be mislead by "Powder Burning Rate Charts" as each load combination has myriads of different factors that can change the reaction/actions known as "Internal Ballistics" in a heart beat.

In other words, the charts are for general comparison only; always consult a Competent Reloading Manual before you decide to go out on your own with concocting different loads for a particular cartridge.

Just my dime's worth...

Thats not what Im doing, Im looking for info on powders other than my reload books that just give me recipes for powders that are usable without any details of the powders.
