Well I went up to do a little shooting and try to call in some yotes as well. After shooting a few rounds I was ready to kill something. I went to my favorite canyon that had been clear cut two years ago. I dug out my howler and let out a few howles to see if anything would respond.
One lone yote yeld out to my call, I quickly located him standing broad-side on top of a rock cliff.
I knew he was 400 yards away because, I ranged this area before bear seasion. I rested the XP on top of my back-pack cranked-up the Burris Ball-Plex to 12x and put his back on top of the last post. At the shot he fell rolling off the cliff and sliding down the shale rock. The 139gr Hornady SST found it's mark. I soon saw he was not dead
as he tried to run but, couldn't his back was broke. By this time he was about 250 yards out sitting up. So I took aim once more putting the 2nd tick dead-on and finished him off. I tried to get to him so I could take some pic's of my long range trophy and to check out the bullet performance. But, I couldn't it was just to steep!!
