Or either the S&W 41Mag on top or their Mtn.Gun in 44Mag.

Ken,
Its what was originally called the 458-400 Express. Gallagher built them originally on 5 shot cylinders with 1.4" cases just like the 475 but at the time 475 components were tough to come by so he just built it with the diameter as 458 due to more component choices. This is a modified version of that one. It uses a 480 ruger case run through the original 458-400 dies. It shoots 400 grain 458 slugs about 900 fps and has very little recoil. Also is very light and handy. The gripframe is steel but has been lightened by removing all of the steel that was not needed. Frame was scalloped and the recoil shields to lighten it up a little more. Very neat little gun. I'll have it in Arkansas if you are still heading down in March if you want to shoot it. I'll load up some ammo and bring it

I'd feel perfectly safe with my S&W model 25-5

OK I have been out of the loop for a bit but I always enjoy a good PPP discussion.

For me it often just depends on what mood I am in:

Ruger 44 specials always fit

But my FA 475 is a tried and true buddy:

But I built a Bisley Vaquero in 45 colt to be my PPP and it absolutely is one of my babies:

I have a few other that I carry, there is always something on me everyday but these are what I carry in the backcountry fishing, hunting, or just hiking for a day...

A 4" Redhawk in .45 LC, or my .45 LC Predator. Im jealous of you guys with the shorty FA's. Just not in the right tax bracket to buy one of those, ...yet.
