Hi all,

I have recently bought a .44 Stainless Super Blackhawk .The previous owner mounted a scope though and removed the rear sight...and then lost it. So I have to find a replacement rear sight and would like some recommendations if possible?

I browsed Rugers online shop and saw a nice looking express type sight, except it stated it was for the Redhawk guns. Does anyone know if this sight will fit the Super Blackhawk? I also like the idea of a brass bead front sight, anyone know where I can find one of these?

The Ruger fibre optic sights look good too, has anyone tried these, what do you think?

+1 on the Bowen. A little pricey but top quality.

The Redhawk and SBH use the same factory rear sight. You can get one (compete) from Ruger.

I do like the various fiber optic sights, especially in low light. I seem to be able to see the green better than orange or red.

I don't know where you can find a gold bead for the SBH, but I bet someone makes one. Since your gun is stainless the front sight is pinned in and easy to replace. (I am sure you know that).

They are all steel and very rugged. The target model gives very precise adjustment. I think I could drop my gun with the "rough country" off a cliff and it would not be out of adjustment.

I have a Bowen Rough Country on my 4 5/8 SBH 45---just a note on my 45 I opted for the taller sight--I shoot mostly high vel loads out of mine with the factory sight it is backed out pretty good-- that tall blade allowed me to almost bottom the rear sight out and still get good targeting

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Thanks for the feedback, think I'll take the plunge and get myself a rough Country with the white outline. Looking forward to playing with this gun!
