I have been using some Winchester Primers when I could not get CCI--They dont seem quite as hot as the CCI primers.
Anyone else have this issue??
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

I have not chrono'd my loads with Winchester primers as opposed to C.C.I.'s but my loads-44 mag. 180gr. Hornady X.T.P.'s all shot to the same point of impact,I have not noticed any differences between the two.

Almost all of my primers are CCI for the simple reason of availability. I have some Winchester'Federal and Remingtons. I mainly have CCI primers for my 454 and get excellent results.

The CCI350 is the hottest pistol primer on the market. I use it for tough to ignite powders such as H110, W296, and IMR4227. For 95% of my shooting I use the Winchester WLP primer, is not as hot as the CCI350 by a long shot but is the most all around primer out there.
I have found loads with H110 that would run 1200fps with a WLP primer on a 80 degree day would drop to under 1000fps on a 5 degree day! With CCI350 primers the velocity drops only about 60fps.
I have not had those velocity swings with easier to ignite powders such as W231, HS6, Power Pistol, Unique and such so with those I use WLPs that give me lower velocity variations...

That is the same information I received from Accurate Arms when I asked about the differences in brands of pistol primers. CCI-350 primers produced the highest pressures of all the magnum pistol primers tested.
