Anyone see one, or better yet shoot one??

The original judge never interested me, but this one caught my attention. They make one with a 6.5 inch barrel, 6 shot cylinder, and you can fire 45, 454, and 3 inch shot shells.

I would buy this if the shot patterns were good out to any reasonable distance.

My thought is that after about 15ft, the shot will open up to the point of being useless, but if there was a way to choke it, this would be a super fun gun for clay pigeons, and squirls, and birds. And it could do double duty as a big game gun shooting 454 casul.

What are your thoughts?????
Thanks
MN

Kinda like an enduro motorcycle -- they can go on and off road. They do both but neither well. JMHO.

Therein lies one big problem, and they don't seem to care about it. If it weren't for the choke, the 45/410 would be useless as a shotgun, and it already is worthless in 45LC due to freebore. The slightly longer Casull would fare no better. Marketing BS is all it is.

I wonder if someone could install a choke on one of those things. Kinda like a muzzle break, but a choke instead. It would be pretty neat to have a 6 shot pistol that would give good bird shot patterns out to say...30 or 40 yards.

Can it be done??

20 yrs ago, 5 rounds of 44 shot from a dan wesson, shoe box at 10 yards, not one tiny hole! so much for bird hunting with a handgun for me. someone once made a smooth bore handgun with strait rifling the last inch or so. maybe that worked, but i doubt it.

I saw this revolver last Sunday at a gun shop. It is massive to say the least. It has a front and rear cylinder locks. I passed on the gun on weight alone. I will stick with my 45 Colt Ruger Redhawk.

We had one at the store that I work at and other than having to have an extra guy to carry it for you it is realy built to shoot anything. We thought that if you shoot all the ammo you had with you and missed just throw it at them . Way to heavy. After looking at it I am not sure that with all the different ammo that it shoots, It would not shoot any well....because when they made the cylinder longer for the 410. there is to much cylinder gap for the rest of the ammo to shoot well, but I could be wrong just observation.......

It's not intended to be a hunting gun it's for PD and my experience with them is that they do ok for that purpose if it's your only option and not much else.

I know this is a PD weapon. It just happens my PD weapon is also my sidearm for backpacking & hunting trips. As a PD weapon that does not leave the house too often its fine. As for something I want to carry with a 80 lb backpack, I don't think its worth the extra weight.

Do we need 454 Casull for personal defense in the home. They are just capitalizing on the insane popularity of these things. More is better, right? I will bet that half the sales of this thing go to folks that really think they could hunt with them. Gimickery is all it is, IMO.

I am not sure how much you need a 454 Casull for home defense or how deafening that would be inside the house, but in big bear country a 454 Casull would be judged at adequate.

In my house I would rather have my 835 Mos 12ga and my H&K USP 45, but that is just me...

I bought one recently... soley for personal defense in the house because I did not want 9mm rounds going thru walls and I am a lousy shot... I think 000 buck should hit an intruder at close distance rather than a family member. I also got it for personal defense while camping in remote sites by myself as well as while Coyote hunting... God forbid a Black Bear responds to the calls. Sounds like there should be a separate "Topic" for this... maybe a "Other Than Hunting"? Naaaaahhhh, that would degrade this great forum.
