You can always try and get permission from a land owner. The feral hogs down there are out of control. If you want a decent outfitter you can try L&R outfitters. Darryl is a great guide, hogs are not penned up and plenty of land to hunt. And you get to enjoy a fun ride in the swamp buggies. There price, last I checked was 150.00 no hidden costs, for a meat pig. They even have a trailer out in the woods on a nice lake full of gators. Free of charge last I checked.

My Dad and I hunted with L and R last February. We had a great time and it didn't cost us an arm or a leg. We shot four wild boars. A ton of fun.

I've heard good stuff about L&R. I used to live in Central Florida and there are a bunch of outfits throughout the state. I hunted with an outfitter in the pan handle called Florida Slam a couple of times.

He is a character. I shot two hogs when I hunted with him last time. The 2nd hog I shot standing in water chest deep with Daryl laughing at me. I was demonstrating how you can walk on water by laying over saw grass, a practice I learned while growing up hunting deep in the everglades. Only problem I was 65lbs lighter back then and a little more agile. I did manage to get 3/4 of the way across the canal when I missed my step and went swimming. Here is a good report on the Bushenell holosite I had mounted on my Taurus raging bull 480. It went deep under water a few times before I could get myself to shallow water. The dogs had a hog at bay and where waiting for me to cross. I took the shot when I could reach chest high water. And all Daryl did was hold my soaking cell phone wallet etc and laugh his rear end off.
Hey I still got the hog!

I lived in and hunted Florida for 23 years. There is some good deer, turkey and hog hunting to be had for sure. There is some public land to hunt, but most of the hunting is controlled by hunting clubs that lease large tracts of land. To get in I started asking around at my local gun range, gun shops & friends until I found my way into a good club/lease...Once I was in I killed 4 to 5 bucks a year, countless hogs and a few turkeys. I hope this help you 'crack the code' to good hunting in Florida.
