I just purchased a 6.5 BB and am looking for some recommendations. I have a 2-7x Burris on a 223 tender and a 2x on a 35 Remington tender but am curious if there is a better option. I am completely satisfied with my Burris pistol scopes (and rifle scopes for that matter) but they are getting high, especially the 3x12. I am hoping to use the 6.5 out to 300 (max for me) so I would like magnification of 7x or more. I would not be opposed to a fixed 10x but don't know if this would be practical for shooting anything under 100yds. I have threatened to buy the bushnell 2-6 that Natchess has but I am worried about the FOV and low magnification. I look forward to finding out what works for others.

they are getting high, especially the 3x12 boy....ain't that the truth. place a want to buy ad in the classifieds here and at specialty pistols site for a used 3x12. you could stay a fair amount under $300 that way. i use a bushnell 2x6 on my 35rem. you can get by with it fine. just less x's at 300.
Kentucky….no place like home.

I have 2 x 7 Burris scopes on my 30/06 and 25/06 Encores and on my .35 Remington XP-100. Great scope for hunting, but one of my favorite handgun scopes is the Burris 3 x 9, which has been discontinued. Mine is perfect for long shots at antelope with my RPM in .25 Bullberry at the ranges you mentioned. Every so often a 3 x 9 will surface on Gunbroker, or in the Classifieds of various forums. The good ones go for $150-$200.

On a budget 2-6 Trophy _
No wife to review budget 2-7 Burris FOV is great or a 2.5-8 Leupold
For me The Burris is the best
If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

If I couldn't have a 2x7x or 3x12x Burris I'd have a 2.5x8x Weaver. Having used all 3 on Handguns designated for Deer Hunting and my preference would be in the order I listed them.
As per the straight 10x, that may get a little tricky to use as the field of view is small.
I have had 2x6x Bushnell Trophy's and a 2x6x Bushnell Elite 3000 (older scope) and while they were very crisp and clear the field of view is quite small. The other problem I experienced is that for certain shooting situations my arms were not long enough.
Right now I have a 3x12x Burris on my Super 14 .22 LR Match, 3x12x Burris on my Super 14 .223 Remington and a 2x7x Burris on my Super 14 7-30 Waters.
For me personally I feel 7x is adequate for shooting Deer Sized Critters as far away as I am going to be shooting them with a Super 14 7-30 Waters. In fact over the years the longest shots I have made on Whitetails has been close to 290 yards. In one instance I used a 2x7x Burris at 6x and the other I used a 2.5x8x Weaver at 6x.

I appreciate all the good input. I think I am going to take a 3x9 Nikon Rifle scope I have laying around and put on my 14" 223 barrel and move the 2-7 Burris from that barrel onto the 6.5 BB until I see how it shoots. If all goes well I will probably just buy another 2-7 Burris unless I really like the rifle scope on the 223.

I looked and couldn't find the Burris 2-7 in stock. I know they have the Bushnell 2-6 in stock but I would rather have the Burris. Do you know where you saw that, I would be really interested in that deal if it is instock and I overlooked it.
