Picked up a Model 25-5 today with a wood Hogue grip--Got it from my buddy at my local shop one of his dads friends died and the wife was selling off the guns.

I should have it in a few weeks -- it is a 6" plan to put a leupold base and rings I have on it and add a 2X leupold.

I have a 625 Mtn gun and have always wondered how it would do with a scope.

With the sucess of my Model 28 6" project I have High hopes for this one.

I have some 250 LBT's just waiting to be loaded.

Does any one here have a 25 45 Colt S&W scoped??

If it jams force it! If it breaks it needed replacing anyway.

Still up in the air about adding the scope but if I do it will be a 2x Leupold on Leupold DD base and rings

Very good looking gun and apparently untinkered with. I am personally more in the chop&bob camp but I like the look of an original. Does .45 LC do the trick for hunting with std. pressure loads?

I had a very early 25-5, and liked it a lot. Yours looks to be in good shape. Those look to be very early wooden Hogues, with the logo medallion still implanted in the wood.
Team Amish 1, the 25-5 with standard pressure loads can do nicely for hunting most game at reasonable distances. I'd like to stay to within about 50 yds.

That is a very "I mean business" looking firearm. I really like the looks of a gun that has clean lines and a business look about it.
