Hey guys I'd like abit of feedback on the performance of the 300 XTP 44 factory rounds, stuff like how they perform on game such as pigs and maybe elk. I hunt pigs here in New Zealand as well as deer. The main deer species being red deer- they're not as big as elk but certainly bigger than your average white tail.
I would either try the 240 or the 300 gr XTP to see how they group in your gun. I shoot the Barnes 225gr XPB and had some Great results with deer shot game 1 shot kills the bullet relly tears up and always passes thru even on shoulder shots on deer at ranges of 75-100yds. JMO FWIW maybe try em to see if they will shot good in your gun?
More then adequate!!! I shoot them in my Ruger SBH with a 7 1/2 barrel. Your lever gun will give them plenty of extra speed. The 300 XTP will hold together well for you!
I agree, more than enough bullet for deer and stag. I have killed deer, bears and hogs with the 300 xtp. I load them to 1150 fps, and have never recovered a single bullet.
