I've got a bunch of 44's, including one that is Magna Ported. Can't tell much difference between them. Mainly the Magna Ported one doesn't have quite as much muzzle flip, although it still comes back pretty good.
I doubt the Magna Port would help much on a Super Blackhawk 44, as it cuts down muzzle flip and the grip style of the SBH soaks up most of the recoil by sliding down in the hand due to the muzzle flip.
Personally, I'd go with some lighter bullets until you get used to it. I started shooting 44's when I was 10 years old. It's not the big kicker that most people think it is. Use some 180's or 200's to start off with, then slowly move up as you get more experienced with it. I started out with 200's when I was a kid.
Good Luck,
Brian.
