I came across a nice old shoulder holster the other day. It is custom made based on the old Bianchi X15. It is a Right Hand holster. On the front side is an Oval COLT embosed stamp.
On the lower end below the belt loop is stamped the following:
CUSTOM MADE FOR
COLT PYTHON HUNTER
BY BIANCHI
The Python Hunter was an 8" barrel Special Edition Python that came with a 2X Leupold Scope mounted on the rib, with a tall elevation cap. It was manufactured from 1980 thru 1990, with a limited number of Custom Shop ones produced for a while after 1990 apparently on special order.
With the COLT Emblem embosed on the front of the holster, I would guess this was made for Colt by Bianchi.
This holster has a cutout for the Leupold Scope cap to clear on the spine.
I picked it up for my Super Redhawk. I am thinking I should clean it up a hair, and find it a new home with a Colt Python collector. What do you think?
