I've been looking at getting a blackhawk and was wondering about the convertible offers. I see they come with 45LC and 45ACP cylinders. What are the advantages/disadvantages of this setup? Especially when compared to just a straight 45LC for instance. Thanks for the help

Thad

The "advantage" may be cheaper plinking with factory 45 ACP ammo, but if you load there really isn't much advantage to that, IMO.

The "disadvantage" might less accuracy due to the smaller bullet size of the 45 ACP, but some shoot pretty good with them.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I have one convertible, because the price was right. Two others are 45 colt only. After I "saw the light " I reload the 45 colt for the Rugers. I don't reload acp's. Mingokid

Nothing wrong with another caliber. Just make sure you adjust your sights as needed before hunting.
