I'm thinking about getting a big bore barrel for my Encore. The .460 interests me because of the ability to shoot multiple calibers; moderate to realy-freakin-big. I'm worried about accuracy issues related to the distance a 45LC and 454 must travel before getting to the rifling.

Does anyone have experience in this area? Thanks for your help!

Can't say about the 460, but although my 357 Maximum barrel will chamber the 357 mag and 38 sp, neither of the shorter prospects shot particularly well. Same for 45 Colt when fired through my 45/410 barrel.

Rod, too.

Short cuts often lead to long recoveries.

I have a Judge with the long barrel and it does not group particularly well with LC ammo but I wanted to pose the question to a group much more experienced than myself.

Thanks for your time and knowledge.
