From some stories I've heard this seems a bit "hopeful" from them but he was pretty certain that it would be here in 8 weeks. Other experiences??

Still not sure what color I'll get...Dave said to cut it in and bed then send back for paint if I wanted to...o that's what I'll do so I have some time to decide. Suggestions?? Thinking of getting "Spruce w/ black" or possibly "Sand". I like some of the camo colors but can not see dumping another $50 or more into paint...still can't believe I paid that much for a stock!!

I hope you get the stock in 8 weeks. I'm thinking about ordering one myself. I have narrowed the colors for mine to Spruce w/black web or black with the blue web.
I hear you on the price but we don't have many other choices in good fiberglass. I'm doing some research on the McMillan right now to see how it is built.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Mike

After shooting my yellow XP w/ the HS Varmint stock I just can not see buying anything else...not only is it built grat but it is TOO comfortable. I shoot my Strikers and wood stocked XP then grab the yellow gun and it's like nothing else!

I bought a used Varmint style for my 7WSM a couple months ago and the Varmint style I just ordered is for the .222 Rem Mag Imp. My current Varmint stocks have barrels of 1" muzzle diameter in them. They said the Sporter stock will only handle tubes up to .7" or so...the .222 Rem Mag Imp is about .75" now and will get a bigger barrel down the road then it "grows up" into a WSSM or something on the .284 Winny case.

The sporter/sillywet stock will handle barrels larger than .700 inches. My yellow w/black speckled stock is the sporter type and my barrel diameter is over that dimension.
My 7 Dakota will have the McMillan.
I'm really looking forward to trying it since I have used and liked and used the H-S exclusively for the past 18 years.

just received their new catalog, they have some new color schemes. how about black with red spider web? or black with olive spider web/, or white with red and blue spider web????? hard choice. Just sent one of my 308's back to HS for a little warranty work, stock bagan to have some pieces fall off. if it is replaced I will have to make a choice as well.

New colors...SWEET!! I'll have to ask for a catalog when my stock is shipped. I was just going by the colors on the website.

I got my stock about a year and a half ago. Seems like it took close to 8 weeks. But that was before they got real busy. The first one I was fitting broke out in the trigger area. It was cast wrong. I sent it back and they sent me a new one in less than 2 weeks. But that was a warrenty thing so I would assume it took priority.

I like the black with blue spiderweb. Wanna see it?? OK thought ya did.

The extra $50 for a non stock paint job is a little steep, but they do a great job. I bet by the time you bought the right paint and found someone with the right equipment to paint it you would have more than $50 bucks tied up in it. Dan you could contact the gun garage and see what Dave could do for ya. He is set up for it. Just a thought.

I'll bring the XP to the SWPA shoot so you can look the color over. As a matter of fact I'll bring both XP's to the shoot.

Dale, it is just wrong for you to own such a nice piece of machinery! I was actually thinking of offering Dan some money for that block of walnut he's going to sell, but wow, your stock has me thinking!! Nice rig!

The stock with standard color was $299, non stock colors were an extra $50. When I got mine I wanted the black with blue spider web. It was a non stcck color. I would assume stock colors are what ever they are doing the rifle stocks in at the time. It's been a while since I got mine so maybe HS has changed things.
