460 S&W Recoil Comparison - 45 Colt, 454 Casull, 460 S&W

I made this video to show how the recoil of the three rounds compare when fired out of a 460.

TN - get yourself a box of the 360 gr Buffalo Bore ammo. It'll make the jump between the 460S&W and the Casull look like the gap between the Cowboy loads and the Casull

Buffalo Bore lists it as a 360 @ 1900. It's a definite change from the 200FTX

I was just working with what I had on hand, but I do wish I had some of those Buffalo Bores. That would have made for a more interesting video. My wrists hurt just thinking about the prospect of touching one of those off.

The most abusive factory load I shot in the .460 XVR was Corbon's 395 grainer. That one got your attention!

Whit, that's like a "brisk warmup" for your 50AK!

TN LW, I'm with you, I like to run the FTX bullets in my 460, and plan on experimenting with the Barnes in both 200 and 275gr options. I've got other platforms that sling the heavies without being overly abusive

You're daring me to make another video, aren't you?

I used the 200 grain bullet because those were the only factory loads I have in 460. I wanted to use common factory loadings in all three calibers.

TN LW,

Don't take Whit's bait - he's luring you towards advanced age and arthritis at an accelerated rate

My 460 no longer wears a scope, and now I think the recoil has become far more pronounced without it. Might have to make another video.
